From 2015 (YouTube Edition): The Stunning Technology Behind What Keeps Much Of The Aero-World Flying In this video we have the pleasure of meeting, J.J. Frigge, the Executive Vice President for Hartzell Propeller, and we receive a personal guided tour of the Hartzell production facility. The Hartzell Propeller Company goes back to the early days of aviation when they were innovators in airplane propeller research and development. The spirit of those days has not been lost on the modern company. The video takes us through the production process of Hartzell propellers that are found on some of the highest performance propeller-driven airplanes. Hartzell produces their propellers through a process they call, "Cellular Manufacturing,"and Frigge gives us a look at how that's accomplished.

Sonex’s long-awaited Highwing project is beginning to ship out a round of tail kits. Deliveries and factory pickups began mid-January, with orders scheduled to roll out through mid-February as the company transitions to fuselage and quick build kit production. Bristell flew through 2025 with a rare streak of international aviation regulators saying “yes” to it, racking up certifications across Europe and the United States while picking up airshow awards, and expanding into new markets… One of the biggest milestones came in Europe, where the Rotax 912iS-equipped Bristell B23 earned EASA CS-23 certification. The FAA’s MOSAIC initiative represents one of the most significant regulatory shifts in modern sport and general aviation. Its implications will affect aircraft design, certification pathways, pilot access, training models, and the economic future of multiple market segments. To address this gap, the Aero-News Network is launching a new long-form webcast and editorial initiative. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!

From 2023 (YouTube Edition): An Eagle by Any Other Name Originally developed as the Yuma by Alisport, an Italian aircraft manufacturer based in the Northern Italian city of Cremella, the Aquilae (ACK-will-lay) is a kit-built, STOL-capable, Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) distributed in the U.S. by Kent, Illinois-based North American Eagle. Aquilae is the Latin term for Eagle. As implied by its eligibility for certification as an LSA, the Aquilae’s maximum gross weight is 1,320-pounds. The aircraft is powered by a one-hundred-horsepower normally-aspirated, carbureted, four-cylinder, four-stroke, liquid-and-air-cooled, Rotax 912 ULS engine. Built entirely with 2024-T3 Alclad aluminum fitted over a 4130 steel tube welded frame, the Aquilae can be had with either a conventional (tail-dragger) or tricycle undercarriage. In addition to being eminently conducive to easy storage the Aquilae’s unique, folding main-wing is fitted with electric flaps and houses a pair of 9.25-gallon fuel-tanks to which the aircraft’s advertised range of between 434 and 508-nautical-miles is ascribed, in part.

“This is just the beginning. It marks the start of an Artemis program that will evolve to support repeated and affordable missions to the Moon, in line with President Trump’s national space policy. Getting this mission right means returning to the Moon to stay and a future to Artemis 100 and beyond.” Source: NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman, commenting as NASA’s Space Launch System ran into familiar trouble this week, experiencing hydrogen leaks during a very important, very public “wet dress rehearsal” ahead of the Artemis II mission. Though many were hopeful at first, agency head Jared Isaacman confirmed that the original mid-February launch target was being scrapped.

Aero Linx: Swift Museum Foundation, Inc. The Swift Museum Foundation is a 501(3)c non-profit, member supported organization. Membership details are available by contacting the Museum Headquarters. Membership benefits include sharing over 60 years experience in the care and maintenance of the Swift by thousands of owner members. The Swift Museum Foundation was started by Charlie Nelson, our President, over 40 years ago with an ad in Trade-A-Plane to Swift owners inquiring about any interest in forming a type club. It started as the International Swift Association, grew and ten years later became the only type club to purchase the FAA Type Certificate for it’s aircraft. It also acquired with the Type Certificate the original factory tooling, the remaining parts inventory and the original manufacturing plans. This allows us to have FAA PMA parts manufactured to keep this great aircraft flying for the foreseeable future.

Delta offers a pilot career path for college students at all US-based universities with flight education programs accredited by the Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI), and graduates of select affiliate flight schools. Acron Aviation Academy announced the return of two of its most popular training programs, the Accelerated Airline Pilot Track (AAPT) and the Professional Pilot Program (PPP). The school also announced the establishment of its new merit-based EXCEL Scholarship Program. The two programs have collectively launched the careers of hundreds of pilots, and are designed to meet the needs of motivated students who seek a direct and structured pathway to the airlines. The FAA has issued what is called an information for operators"recommending all pilots receive training in spatial disorientation (SD). The types of training should include scenario-based training to include unexpected scenarios that mimic real-life situations where disorientation may occur to cultivate practical flying skills in an operational environment.
